Sofia Schreiber is an illustrator, designer, and writer based in Providence, RI. She received her BFA in Illustration with a concentration in Literary Arts and Studies from Rhode Island School of Design. Sofia’s art education began in the public library. In the picture book stacks she combed through every page, captivated by the immersive illustrations of artists like Jan Brett, David Small, Tomie de Paola, Sophie Blackall, and Ezra Jack Keats, to name just a few of her favorites.
Sofia fascinated by people, their quirks and obsessions, and wonderfully weird stories. Growing up in a tight-knit neighborhood in New Jersey, full of big personalities, she was surrounded by good stories to absorb. Backyard concerts, bonfires, potlucks, birding expeditions, and game nights fostered her love of community. In elementary school, Sofia started a weekly newsletter documenting the happenings on the block with handwritten stories and drawings. Since then, her passion for storytelling and art making has only grown.
Sofia is particularly excited to work on picture books, book and magazine covers, cookbooks, editorial illustration, children’s gift and novelty projects, album art, and murals.
When she’s not making art she’s probably in the kitchen, whipping up some concoction for her friends and family with an absurd amount of garlic.
Seeking representation.
