Sofia Schreiber is a rising senior at Rhode Island School of Design pursuing a BFA in Illustration with a concentration in Literary Arts and Studies.

She is an artist and writer who enjoys illustrating picture books, articles, murals, and zines. She is also a print maker who is experienced in intaglio, relief, letterpress, and risograph printing. Most recently, she’s been working with Congress of the Birds, Rhode Island’s only federally licensed avian rehabilitation clinic to develop educational illustrations teaching the public about local bird populations and how to better care for them.

For Sofia, art making means slowing down and noticing little everyday moments and interactions. She finds that listening for and documenting these observations with whimsy and curiosity help guide her, and hopefully others, in fostering reciprocal and joyful kinship networks with both human and non-human beings.

You can also find her co-hosting her radio show, “Live from the Terrarium” for Brown Student Radio, meticulously recipe testing homemade ravioli, and hanging out with her mischievous cat Lupe.
